Xiaomi Cloud, launched by Xiaomi Inc. in 2012, is a personal cloud storage service designed to keep users' important data safe and updated. With this service, users can securely store their photos, videos, contacts, SMS, notes, and other vital personal information in the cloud and access it from multiple devices anytime, anywhere.

Integrated into Xiaomi's ecosystem, Xiaomi Cloud is available on Xiaomi's mobile phones, tablets, TVs, IoT devices, and also offers versions for Windows and Mac computers, as well as a web portal, facilitating seamless cross-device usage. Upon first enabling the service, each user is granted 5GB of free cloud storage, which can be upgraded based on individual needs.

Xiaomi Cloud synchronizes a wide range of data, including contacts, call logs, SMS, notes, photos, Wi-Fi settings, and backup of home screen layouts. It employs a 6-layer security encryption mechanism to ensure the safety of user data, eliminating concerns about data loss. Data migration between devices has become exceptionally simple; users only need to log in to their Xiaomi account and enable cloud services to restore their personal data, such as desktop layouts, SMS, contacts, albums, recordings, and notes, on their new devices.

Users can manage their data stored in the cloud at any time by installing the Xiaomi Cloud client on their computers or logging in to the Xiaomi Cloud website. Any changes made to the data on one device will be automatically synchronized across all devices, keeping everything up-to-date. In case of device loss or theft, the "Find Device" feature helps users locate and protect the data on their devices by displaying its location, making it sound, or erasing its data.

In September 2015, at the China-U.S. Economic Forum held in Seattle, Xiaomi announced that it would adopt Windows Azure, a public cloud operated by CenturyLink based on Microsoft technology, as the cloud storage platform for Xiaomi Cloud, in addition to its domestic sibling company's intelligent cloud platform as the primary supplier.

Setting up Xiaomi Cloud is straightforward. Users can enable it by navigating to "Settings" > "Xiaomi Account" > "Cloud Service" on their Xiaomi devices. For new devices, they can enable "Cloud Service" and "Find Device" after logging in to their Xiaomi account during the initial setup. It's important to note that when managing data across devices, users should ensure they are logged in with the same Xiaomi account on all devices.

Xiaomi Cloud is committed to protecting users' privacy. The data synchronized and stored in Xiaomi Cloud is strictly encrypted, and Xiaomi does not access, view, or analyze this data. The service is available in all markets where Xiaomi products are sold.
